An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Services Directorate at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The post plays a key role in providing clinical governance assurance and adverse events management within the Acute Services Directorate to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care and that learning from adverse events is shared. A specific focus on local and significant adverse event reviews, reports and shared learning will be a key aspect of the role. This involves working closely with the Senior Managers, Clinical and Non-Clinical staff in the Acute Services Directorate, as well as liaising with patients and carers across NHS Forth Valley. The aim is to continuously improve systems, structures and processes of care delivery in accordance with national and local priorities.

The post will provide support relating to clinical governance and facilitate and provide practical assistance, guidance and advice to all staff within the Acute Services Directorate in determining and undertaking activities associated with clinical governance, quality, adverse events and service development.

The post will be based within the Acute Services Directorate but will be line managed by the Head of Clinical Governance as part of the clinical governance team within Forth Valley Quality. The post holder will identify, plan and prioritise clinical improvement and quality programmes supporting clinical governance in the Acute Services Directorate.

The post holder must be an effective communicator and have a minimum of a degree in nursing, healthcare or equivalent qualification.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
