Company Accountant – Falkirk with hybrid working

Lusona has been retained by a family-owned group of companies based in Falkirk to source suitable applicants for the post of Company Accountant.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, high-calibre Accountant to be instrumental in the development and growth of the business. The role requires a self-motivated and focused person who will quickly establish themselves as a key contact for Management Information for the business.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for smoothly running the accounts function, and delivering timely and accurate management accounts. The role will also require developing controls to maximise returns and cash flow and assisting with the effective running of the dealership.
The main responsibilities will include the following:
Monthly management accounts – providing detailed analysis and commentary which will involve extensive liaison with the General Manager and Directors
Preparing monthly management accounts, using Excel and reports extracted from the system
Supervision of the accounts staff
Analytical support across the business, evaluating profit optimisation
Review of capital and project appraisals
Consolidation of group budgets and forecasts
Investigative and analytical exercises as required
Any ad hoc projects as required
To be considered for this role candidates must have the following skills and experience:
Strong technical and analytical accounting skills
Proven track record within the service sector
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Previous experience using Kerridge is preferred
