Working Student (m/f/d) Micro Hybrid Plant Simulation and Control 

We are a dynamic and successful team within ABO Wind AG, which is committed to the optimal integration of renewable generation plants through storage systems. We are looking for an intern/work-student to upgrade and implement the energy management control system in an existing renewable micro-hybrid energy system (mHES) at the Wiesbaden office.

Your passion

You participate in the design and optimization of the communication architecture of a microgrid to integrate a new Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for controlling the system.

You make the evaluation/selection of PLC hardware

You program a PLC for controlling and/or simulating micro hybrid project consisting of two solar, a wind and a LFP battery system.

You optimize of control algorithms on the PLC for best operation in the existing micro hybrid system

You thoroughly document your work and codes

Your qualification

You study a master degree student in electrical engineering/automation technology/technical computer science, or similar.

You are willing to work 16 to 20 hours a week regularly for at least 6 months

You are familiar with CoDeSys environment and have already proven experience with several programming projects using PLC 

You are familiar with communication protocol Modbus TCP/IP and Modbus RTU

You speak English perfectly; other languages are an advantage

You work in a structured and committed manner

You are willing to bring in own ideas

You are able to work independently and in a team
