The role is intended to support the continuous improvement of Finance processes and systems. You will ensure that the systems support the finance team’s ability to deliver their roles by interfacing with Finance Operations, FP&A, Finance Business Partnering and other finance functions including the ITS team and the PMO change office within the organisation.
You will liaise with various teams and people of all levels within the organisation to deliver key projects aimed at improving reporting and readiness of the teams to deliver. In this role you will be part of the Finance Systems team within the Group and act as the most senior Finance Systems specialist within this £600M manufacturing and engineering group.
You will be responsible for supporting the continuous improvement of Finance process and implementing solutions to maximise department efficiencies.
Focus on operations as part of aligning Finance and Tax with all business units across the Group. You will also have exposure of other projects across the Group.
Lead multiple, often complex, projects from defining and managing scope to delivering a viable product/solution to the business.
Prepare conceptual designs of proposed technical solutions; act as the liaison between the business and ITS in transforming system design concepts to a detailed system design.
Lead acceptance testing of new business systems and system enhancements to ensure system function in line with the specification.
We are looking for someone with a core background in Finance & Accounting who has subsequently specialised in financial systems accounting & business analysis.
Experience should include:
CA, CIMA, ACCA ACA Qualified Accountant, you will be a professionally qualified accountant or perhaps be Qualified by Experience.
System configuration and/or development knowledge, experienced in understanding what the finance teams need from the system and working to ensure these customers are served well.
A team player with an inquisitive personality and interest in learning new things and improving processes.
Thorough knowledge of business process redesign or reengineering and the project management skills necessary to deliver these changes.
We need you to have strong computer skills, well versed in Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Access and Visio as well as experience of working with ERP systems.
The key ability of this person will be in relationship building, understanding needs and working with various stakeholders to deliver these needs.
