Scottish Canals is looking for Housekeeping Assistants to join our friendly team at The Falkirk Wheel!

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to join our team and work with us over our Spring to Autumn 2023 season.

If you’re interested in tourism, travel, events, food & drink, boating and outdoor activities, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. We have seasonal and casual contracts available with a degree of flexibility around working patterns and hours.

The role is inclusive of the upkeep of our award-winning tourism destination. The successful candidate will be working with 2 other committed, professional and experienced Housekeepers and ‘on the job’ training will be provided and uniform. The role will maintain the 5-star standards within the visitor centre, meeting rooms and outdoor units.

Full uniform and training will be provided.

Duties will include:

Cleaning and sanitising in all visitor areas and back of house
Monitoring and controlling janitorial supplies, and assisting the ordering, delivery and storage of all items.
Stocking and maintaining an inventory of housekeeping supplies
Dusting furniture/fixtures and polishing them
Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, doormats, and rugs.
Reporting breakages, damages, and safety issues for repairs.
Assisting in other departments of the business when requested.

Previous experience in a similar role is welcomed, but not essential.

This role attracts a living wage salary which is pro-rated to the length of the contract. You will work on a rota which may include weekends and bank holidays.
