Your Dream Role

Lead a small (in-directly managed) team of engineers and in close collaboration with wider engineering team to deliver vehicle systems to support delivery of low-medium TRL (technical readiness level) projects.

This includes projects that will see you push the boundaries of technology to improve powertrain efficiency, safety, reliability, connectivity, and autonomy.

Lead design review meetings involving relevant stakeholders where relevant to ensure an appropriate level of technical and commercial scrutiny and governance is applied to project proposals.

Secure input and agreement of stakeholders to legitimize concept proposals from stakeholders and demonstrate compliance to product requirements.

Approach vehicle concept design using a system engineering philosophy to ensure technical objectivity in supplier system selection and drive supplier accountability into the quality and performance of their delivered systems.

Ensure new vehicle systems proposals are developed collaboratively, taking guidance from internal subject matter experts and legitimizing proposals by staging a series of design reviews, DFMEA’s and DVP’s as appropriate.

What you will bring:

Educated to degree level in Engineering or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.

Ideally experience of systems engineering V model methodology.

Driven, curious and highly analytical with a positive attitude and a can-do approach to problem solving.

Broad technical skills across mechanical, electrical and software development.

An inquisitive enquiring mind and an ability to work from first principals to understand complex systems.

Ideally, you will have knowledge and professional interest in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) groups of technologies.

Deep knowledge of engineering development with a preference for vehicle driveline and powertrain.

Capable of objective, systematic evaluation of alternative competing systems solutions relative to overall product level performance requirements

Systems engineering orientation and approach to vehicle development.

Ability to approach challenges in new, innovative ways, conceptualizing problems differently.

Capable of inspiring, motivating and challenging a team of technically orientated engineers to deliver new, innovative, and class-leading concepts to support future business growth.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and learn from subject matter experts, in turn allowing you to articulate your ideas and thoughts with stakeholders at all levels of seniority both internally and externally.

Ideally, you will have strong relationships and evidence of engagement with industry and government transport working groups

Finally, you will be passionate about what you do and the advancement of the automotive industry.
