We currently have a very successful and established payroll team who will work alongside you to give you all the technical training and support you will need for a career in payroll. You’ll enjoy a fulfilling career that recognises your potential and rewards your enthusiasm and ambition.

At Drummond Laurie, you’ll be a key member of our team from day one. The depth of services and clients you’ll be exposed to will help you kick-start your career. You will enjoy a powerful combination of on-the-job learning and structured training – not to mention a varied client base to work with. You’ll enjoy a culture that nurtures individuality and a positive and vibrant learning environment where everyone is supported to reach their potential.

Our team process payrolls on behalf of a wide variety of clients from organisations across the UK, using bespoke software systems. You will be involved in processing weekly and monthly payrolls, where speed, accuracy and client service are all critical. You’ll get to know your clients and quickly build relationships, whether that’s by assisting with regular processing & checking, ad hoc tasks or electronically distributing reports to clients.

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic self-starter who is always up for a challenge. Payroll is a technically demanding discipline, with frequent tax and regulatory changes, so you need to be able to grasp new concepts and quickly understand and apply procedures. It’s important you also have confidence with numbers and great attention to detail. You’ll need to build relationships with your clients, so must be confident when talking to new people. You may need to explain tax and procedural information, so you’ll need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
