Role Description

This position is for a pro-active, ambitious Quantity Surveyor to integrate within our business and develop, implement, and deliver key procurement and commercial strategies across a range of projects within our existing client base and beyond.

You will be supporting one of our clients in the energy sector, and Soben require individuals who possess a post contact skill who can perform an array of commercial duties throughout our client's project lifecycles.

* Has excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills. The individual will be able to work collaboratively with all stakeholders (i.e., client, design team and contractor) dismantling obstacles by opening lines of communication

* Will provide the necessary pre and post contract quantity surveying / commercial support on a range of one-off or main projects and programmes of work. We are looking for an individual who has working knowledge of relevant conditions of contract, along with experience in estimating, cost and budget management, contract administration and payment and expenditure management

* Strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience delivering large projects/programmes of work

* Can report to the client team and support delivery strategies and contractual process, providing robust pre and post-contract commercial management which in turn support our clients’ overarching goals and objectives

* Can support the delivery of internal and client KPIs and objectives such as providing efficiencies, value engineering and safety performance

* Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritise requirements where necessary. A keen eye to detail is a must as well as the ability to work methodically through a demanding workload. You will need to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and hold the ability to influence and negotiate with users outside your own sphere of responsibility

* Possess a working knowledge of standard contracts (often NEC but not limited to) along with experience in estimating, cost and budget management, contract administration and expenditure management

* Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualification / Relevant Experience

* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor

* Ideally worked in the Energy or Renewables sector, or another highly regulated infrastructure environment.

* Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines

* Ability to open lines of communication

* Stakeholder management skills

* Ability to work autonomously when required

* Can manage pressure environments

* Working knowledge of Standard forms of contact ((i.e. NEC, FIDIC, JCT etc.)

* Post Contract Administration skills

* Project Close out skills

* Degree in Quantity Surveying or Similar cognate qualification preferred

* MRICS / MCIOB / MICES status preferred or working towards
